Using the DISCOFILM bottle with sponge applicator – step by step
1. Apply
- Pull the cap off the DISCOFILM bottle upwards.
- Carefully pierce the sealing membrane with a pointed object (e.g. a spike).
- First, press DISCOFILM directly onto the record in a wavy line .
- Then, spread the liquid evenly and generously using the sponge applicator or a brush.
- Make sure that a homogeneous, closed film forms over all grooves.
💡 Tip from Dr. DISCO:
Before use, briefly warm the DISCOFILM bottle in a water bath (approx. 25–30 °C ).
This makes the liquid more pliable – and you can clean more record sides with one filling .2. Drying & Peeling
- Allow the film to dry completely – depending on room temperature, this will take approximately 2–4 hours .
- During drying, DISCOFILM binds all dust and dirt particles deep within the groove.
Deduct:
- Attach a strip of adhesive tape approximately 5 cm long halfway to the edge of the board and press it firmly onto the dried film.
- Then slowly and evenly peel the film upwards – using the protruding adhesive strip.
❗ Note regarding film breaks
If the film tears when peeled off, it was probably applied too thinly .
No problem: Simply apply an additional layer of DISCOFILM over the already dried film and repeat the process.
